Rahaxi Processing Oy is a company founded in 1994 under the name Maksuverkot Oy. The owner of the payment network was Telecom Finland Oy, Finland ’s leading telecom operator at that time.

The mission set for Rahaxi was the authorisation of online card payment events, as well as the collection and transmission of card payment transactions from merchants’ payment terminals and POS transaction systems to banks and credit card companies.

Rahaxi’s technical payment platform utilizes ACI Worldwide Base24^® software, the system most commonly used by the world’s leading banks. The system’s hardware platform is a supercomputer equipped with Hewlett Packard’s NonStop multiprocessors.

In 2002 Sonera sold the business operations to Rahaxi, Inc., a NASDAQ-listed technology company based in the USA; Rahaxi Processing Oy currently functions as a subsidiary..

In 2004, the service and hardware platform was updated to comply with the requirements of EMV chip card standards and modernize Rahaxi’s range of services.

Currently, Base24^® software supports Rahaxi’s card payment processing services; the rest of our service package has been developed and maintained with domestic resources. Our experts are responsible for the safe and uninterrupted operation of the production environment, the utility software developed for POS transaction systems, as well as the production and delivery of data communications and payment materials.

Widely appreciated since its inception almost 15 years ago, Rahaxi’s customer service has also been expanded, enabling us to more comprehensively serve our customers by taking their individual service needs into account.

In addition, Rahaxi offers to merchants the Optimum^® product family manufactured by Hypercom^®, the leading global provider of electronic payment solutions. This includes all the necessary hardware required by card payments: devices for wireless payments, Internet-payment terminal, as well as the PIN chip card readers required by EMV chip card standards.
